Learn what to do when things go south. This one-day self rescue clinic will focus on learning and practicing skills necessary to get you and your partner to safety( or at least easier access to advanced rescue services). This course will offer step by step guided practice of the most current self rescue skills taught by an AMGA Certified Multi-Pitch Instructor and AMGA SPI Provider. Skills learned in this course will be much more comprehensive than SPI assistance skills.
Topics will include:
Releasing and removing loaded belay devices, rappelling and ascending to and from an injured partner, load transitions, and how to rappel to your partner, leaving minimal gear behind, and tandem rappelling with them to teh ground or next belay station. If time allows we will cover multi-pitch rappelling with an injured partner.
All participants will receive a CAMP Photon locking carabiner and sterling hollow block.
